5 Reasons Why Social Media is More Important Than You Think

When it comes to social media, you should always know what your end goal is and you should be the ONLY one that is in complete control of your image.

Social media, along with mainstreaming the cannabis industry, e-commerce, cryptocurrency, veganism, organic eating, monthly subscription services, selfies, personal drones, and many other industries that have been made increasingly popular by millennials, seems to still be a very taboo yet intriguing topic that many people still seem to be struggling to grasp.

Just in case you are still a doubter of social media in the year 2017, Luxury Capital has put together a list of the top 5 reasons why we believe social media is more important than you think.

Here they are:

1.) Exposure

“Not all publicity is good publicity”, whether you agree with that timeless statement or not, most people can agree that with proper social media tactics you or your brand can see endless amounts of exposure. If you execute your digital marketing efforts the right way, the exposure should put you in front of your target audience and increase your click-through-rate/clicks to your website. As any “digital marketing guru” will tell you, an increased click-through-rate partnered with a user friendly website, can increase your conversion rate and profits by more than 80%.

2.) Credibility

Even though I am sure everyone has met someone that has 100k followers on instagram but is not doing much in their real life, let’s face it, in this generation:

Social Media Following = Credibility.

One of the first steps people are going to take to verify if your brand, company or movement is somewhat legit is check to see if you have a website, followed by checking to see if you are on any social media sites.

Social media following creates a sense of, “if all of these people are following this brand, then I need to be following them too so I don’t look behind.”

3.) Sales Leads

Piggy-backing on reason number 1, sales leads come from strategic digital marketing tactics which are usually lead by strong social media engagement that lead people to your website. If you do not have a website you could still foster potential leads in your message inbox. By creating content that gives you the proper exposure and positioning yourself in front of your target audience, the leads you generate should create a much smoother conversion rate and essentially help you streamline your sales process.

4.) Controlled Media

Like we said before, “all publicity isn’t good publicity” right? For the people who agree with the statement, social media may be your ideal media channel. Social media gives users complete and absolute control over how their brand or their personal image is shaped. By being able to not only create all of the content on your social media, but also being able to time the post, and oversee all of the marketing efforts you should only be producing EXCELLENT publicity for yourself and your brand.

5.) Customer Service

Customer service is one of the most important reasons for a company to have social media. Social sites like Facebook and Twitter can essentially play the role of being at the “front line” of your customer service. Both sites allow you to engage directly with customers and provide immediate feedback if you have an efficient social media management strategy in place. Twitter specifically will allow your brand to reach out directly to celebrities and engage in on-going trending conversations amongst your customers and influencers.

So, is all publicity good publicity? My personal conclusion is that it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. But when it comes to social media, you should always know what your end goal is and you should be the ONLY one that is in complete control of your image. Doing this will  ensure that all of your publicity ends up as AMAZING publicity.
